Hairence is the 40th episode in Season 1 of Clarence.
Clarence is working at his mother's hair shop! The excitement gets ruined by a demanding woman named Sandy.
Clarence is walking down the street with Jeff and Sumo since school is out. Clarence is narrating everything that they are going to over the fun and exciting summer. Clarence states that Jeff is going to something boring like taxes or something, while Sumo will catch leeches. Clarence then excitedly announces that he will be working at his mom's hair salon called, "Hip Clips."
Clarence walks in with his mom to her store. Clarence is in shock with all the cool stuff. He walks around shouting, "OH!" While doing this action he annoys his mom and gives her a headache.
The employees are working, and Clarence is trying his best to help. He eventually gets in the way, so his mom tells him to sweep the fallen hair to distract him. He sweeps all the fallen hair, until it is a huge pile. He takes it in the back, and uses the special green shampoo to gel the hair, and style it.
Later on, a man comes in who is a hothead. He has no hair, except for a short, red ponytail. He walks in angrly repeating the same words, "rum-rum-rum-hum." Sammy asks what type of haircut he wants, and he replies,"rum-rum-rum-hum back." Sandy looks and just sees the ponytail not knowing what to do. Mary comes over, and does the job perfectly, which makes him happy, and leaves in delight.
Another strange customer appears, but isn't really nice this time. Her name is Sandy, and she is a heavy woman on a motor chair. She is demanding and rude to the employees. Clarence doesn't like her one bit. She keeps on coming in making more demand and treating everyone like trash.
One day she comes in again, demanding for the green shampoo. Clarence gets a nervous look on his face, since he used it all to style the swept hair. Mary looks for it, but she can't find which makes her anxious. Sandy yells and keeps demanding for it. Clarence goes to the back and gets the green shampooed-hair. He dumps it on her head, not much to Sandy's delight. She screams in rage, and goes to attack Clarence. Then she trips over her motor car, and gets pushed around the store, not even being behind the wheel. Chad then opens the door dressed up as the Statue of Liberty, helping advertise to the store. Sandy is still on her motor car, and drives out, screaming trying to control the car, which she can't because she is backwards on it.
Later on, The red-head comes in with all of his other friends. His friends all enjoy the haircut. Clarence is now narrating again saying that Sandy never came back. We then see her motor car still going driving off into the sunset. The episode ends as Kevin goes out to the back to take the trash only to be stunned by Clarence's hair sculptures.
